App-Kainime [æˈp kaɪnɪmɛ] is a small OS X development group founded on March 1st of 2008. We design, develop, and deploy high quality software tailored for Macs, iPhones, and the iPod touch. We create our own original apps like EleMints, and also work closely with other companies to develop and deploy their existing products into applications for the iPhone.

To date, we worked with Cliché Magazine to bring their magazine to thousands of iPhone users, and have also worked with our good friends at JapanesePod101 to create a Mac application to access their free lessons everyday. Our focus is primarily on education, particularly in the sciences, Japanese, French, and the SATs, however we do try to explore other fields as well. More about us: we love Macs, Anime, Japanese, and almost everything that turns around these things.

Our company name, App-Kainime, is derived from a made up Japanese acronym, Apukainime 「あぷかいにめ」, which when inverted comes from Anime ga Suki na Kaihatsusha no Apurikeeshon 「アニメが好きな発者のアプリケーション」, which roughly translates to "The Application Developers Who Like Anime".
