For the longest time, I've been watching Code Geass, and I've always wanted others to watch it. It can be best described as a history-themed anime about revolutions and overthrowing an empire the size of a third of the world with a twist of futuristic technology mixed in. As Japan strives to get back their identity, they meet up with a character with much bigger plans. Although only the first season is complete, and the second one being at episode 14, it is definitively a great watch and should be looked into if you get the chance.

This week I have also been introduced to both the anime and manga of Elfen Lied. Probably not very suitable for younger audiences because of fairly realistic gore and sexual references, it is definitely something to watch as the anime contains well done animations and an enriched story line. Lucy, a mutant of sorts bent on killing off the human race who has always treated her as trash, escapes from the research facility where she is being held, and looses all her memories (including those of speech and knowledge of everyday objects) on the way out. You follow her along as she goes in an out of two very different personalities as she fights to find a place on this world. Unfortunately, the anime was started before the manga was finished and contains a slightly different ending, so be sure to check out both if it has grasped you as much as it has done to me.
